Who is the NFC?
National Foreclosure Council is a cross-interest advocacy organization directed specifically at the foreclosure crisis designed to impact legislation through advocacy and associated political activities. The mission of the NFC is to bring together the interests of consumers, government, lenders / bankers, investors, real estate brokers, associated professionals and community leaders to assure that these voices are represented as policy decisions are made, funding opportunities are advanced and plans are put in place to remedy the housing crisis that exists in America today.
We are here to create a compelling message in both directions (government and private sector) through action and collaboration to get operational funds where they are most needed and best used - the local community. Understanding the gap between federal capability to disseminate to the local level, NFC is here to provide expertise and guidance in an effort to manage foreclosure activity and develop a realistic way to prevent foreclosures at the individual and community level. Our objective is to do this by supporting the network of regional and local non-profit service organizations.
The NFC is a coalition of people and voices that must have a clear voice at the tables in the meeting rooms of our nation’s capital and elsewhere as decisions are made and funds are allocated that address this unprecedented housing crisis. Our purpose is to ensure that the collective expertise represented on the NFC is available and utilized as the foreclosure crisis is met and the rebuilding of the housing industry begins.
